I am still here

I just wanted to bring everybody up to speed on what is going on in my life. The hubby and I are separated and are filling for divorce. The kids and I are living at my mom's. I know that I have not posted in a long time and my last post was about this as well. The situation has not changed much but I am in a better place emotionally and mentally so life will go on. My mom is home and doing great we have seen so much improvement over the past month. Both of my parents have gotten strip throat this past week and now I am pretty sure the princess has it as well , to the Dr. we go on Mon. I am bummed because I have canceled my yearly trip to Denver due to lack of money and my car is falling apart. Thru all that life has thrown at me in the past year or so I have realised all the true friends and loving family I have. Thank you all for your prayers and love and support.

Wow life is ....

Ok I do not even know how to fill everyone in on what has been going on in my life. Ok the kids have both started back to school and I have started back to work too. That is the good news. The not so good news is my husband decided to leave me about 2 weeks ago. Then this past weekend I went down to Spring, Tx for a bday party but when I decided to come back home early..... I found my husband in the house he left me to raise his kids in with a woman and her daughter. All cozy watching a movie playing family I guess. Well needless to say we are filing for divorce and I am trying to move out of this house and figure out what I am going to do to provide for me and my kids. This has not been easy but I feel like God has a plan for me and this just a small part in it. Now as far as my mom, she has been in a hospital for about 10 weeks now but the good news is she is doing very well. Sometime this week she should move to a physical therapy center and then hopefully not too long down the road and she will go home. I think that covers most of my life for now.

Just another day

I had to go to some continuing education today for work. And let me tell you that was a waste of 5 hours of my life. I could have so been making cards or visiting mom or taking a nap something else, anything else. Then I get home and my husband is walking out as I am walking in to do what ever it is he thinks is going to help us have money but never really helps. (what ever makes him feel good about it all). And yes today I am a little bitter about things and need to vent. I have a lot going on right now and it is like my husband just is not even on the same planet and then I remember that he has a lot on his plate too. The whole situation just sucks, I just do not know how else to put it. We have no money, my husband still has no job, our rent house sucks, we are about to be kicked out of our rent house, my mom is in the hospital, my dad just had surgery, I have to get the boy ready for school, I have to get ready for the school year, and my kids have turned into heathens. Yeah I think that about covers it, I just really need to get my mind, heart, and sole in a better place so that I can deal better with all of this.

A day of surgery

Well tomorrow is a very busy day for our family. My dad has knee surgery at about 8 am and my mom has her first reconstructive surgery at about 9 am. My sister flew in today to help everyone for the next week. Mom is excited and worried about her surgery, she is excited because this is the first step to walking and some day go home. Dad has been waiting for this for about 5 months so he is just ready to get it over with. My sister and I are just trying to keep everybody healthy and happy at this point. Dad can be a big baby and mom never tells anyone how she really feels if it isn't nice. We will be busy for the next few days balancing the two parents.

update on mom

My mom is now in an acute care hospital in Carollton. We are pray that she does not have any more complications so that she can recover and come home soon. I still do not know what exactly the recovery will be but it will loosely look like this - she will continue to have a wound vac until the doc says so, once the wound vac comes off then we can all talk reconstructive surgery, at some point in all of this she will under go therapy to help her walk and move more freely and they have not said at what point in the recovery she will move to her home. There is still alot of unknown but we are hopefully on the healing side of it all. Thank you all for your continuing prayers and kindness.

My mom

Ok we have had a tough few days but hopefully we will see things turning for the better. My mom's leg has turned out to be a very bad staph infection and this morning they drained the area. Which from what I can tell was surgery to get the nasty stuff out of her leg. They will most likely drain it again on Friday and then hopefully she will start healing. We are not sure how long she will be in the hospital or what recovery will look like yet. So please keep mom in your prayers and that I will keep my head when dealing with my dad.

Life is unexspected

Life has been busy to say the lest. A few weeks ago we woke up to a phone call from the police. They were calling to ask us to come and take my brother in law's 2 kids as the parents were being arrested. Of coarse we went got the kids and we had temporary custody of the kids (one 2 year old and one 1 year old) for a little over 2 weeks. The kids are now with the other side of the family for 8 weeks and then hopefully back home. While we had 2 extra kids in the house my dad went into the hospital for a pain in his head. (I still do not fully understand what it was all about) Today was my last day of teaching for the summer and my mom just went to the hospital with an array of problems in which I hope they have answers for tomorrow. The hubby still is unemployed and starts EMT training Sat. morning. I think that sums it up for now, I will keep you all posted.

My Fireman

He past!!!! My hubby is officially a fireman!!!! Now he just has to get a job and start EMT training (it is a requirement to be a full time fireman in Texas). Until he is finished with EMT training he can work what they consider part time (12 hours a shift instead of 24) and he can work for more than one department or keep up side jobs to make up income. We are on the home stretch.

Little one sick and car trouble

As if my life was not complicated enough. The little man has been coughing his head off and his chest sounds like a marble in a tin can. I took him to the Dr. and she said he either has really bad bronchitis or asthma, in few weeks if he still has night coughing or tightness in his chest then it is asthma. Then on top of that my car has been in the shop for the past week. When I (and father in law) went to pick it up they told us oh by the way while it was here the water pump went out on it. So they tell us just keep putting water in it every day and no highway driving untill we can afford to fix it. Can we all say - Trade in time. Oh and on top of all of that we have no A/C in the house. Our land lord has been so wonderful and let us pay rent as we can (even miss a month if we can not pay) but because of this she now does not know if she will have the money to replace the system which is what is needed. Ok now that have ranted for a while I feel little better. At least we have a roof over our head and food on the table and family that loves us. We are very blessed just sometimes it is hard to remember how blessed when you feel overwhelmed with the world around you.

Fireman Tests

Ok school is over and now all he has to do is take two tests - one for the academy and one for the state of Texas. He is going to take the school test the 6th of June and the state test the 9th of June. He had applied at two fire departments but we have not heard anything yet. The plan is once he passes both tests to apply at every fire department within a 30 min drive radius. So keep the hubby in your prayers as his is nervous about the testes and that he will have a job very soon.

The princess singing The Ittisy bittisy spider with her friends.

Now she is singing the wheels on the bus. (her fav.)

The little man dancing with a really cute girl. It was sooo cute he was always just second behind everybody and it made it soooo funny.

He was supposed to be a duck (I think) but the masks were very strange.

Both kids sang in programs at school last week. And they both were soooo cute that I just had to share some picts.

I thought I would share a few picts from our trip to Colorado (I know that was a while back). The little man got to ride on Uncle L's Harley. I have to admit he did look pretty cool on it. The little man really loves his Uncle L, I'm sure it does not hurt the he has all the fun big boy toys. (Uncle L is pretty good to the kiddos). I will share more picts later in the week. I have not had much to write about so I thought that I could pull out my picts.

I know alot of you have been asking me about the fire academy so I thought I would fill you in. Hubby has about 5 more weeks of school and is loving it. We still do not know what fire department he will work for but we do know of several that are hiring. He has been doing side jobs to keep us going at home. Here are few pict of him at school in his gear.

In this one he the one close up on the left.

He is the one in the black pants with the yellow strip close to the building.

Never go to the zoo on spring break 1/2 price day

Wed. was our trip to the zoo. The Fort Worth zoo was packed as it was 1/2 wed. and spring break. We tried to meet with a friend but they could not even get in the zoo. We got there 15 min after opening and there were only parking spots in the grass and the line was 30 min. The weather was great but there was sooo many people that we could bearly move around with a stroller. We could not get to alot of the exhibits as they were packed and we could not see the animal. It is a sad day when you can not even get to see the lions, giraffes, and elephants at the zoo. The kids did not seem to mind too much they were just glad to be outside and some were besides the house. They did get to ride the train a few times and I felt so bad that they did not get to see much that I even braved the gift shop for a treat for both of them. On the way home we even stopped and got Sonic treats. The kids and I did have a good day together even if it did not go as planed. Today Nana and Papa are going to take them to the park so they should have another day filled with fun before we all go back to school.

My how they have grown

I was going thru some old e-mails and found some picts that where sent to me of the kids. They look soooo different in such a short time. The princess will be three in a little less than two months and the little man is almost thru the 1st grade. Wow how the time flys.

The cute things kids say

The princess likes to tell me who is a boy and who is a girl and what girls can do and what boys can't do. So not too long ago...

Princess - daddy is a boy, brother is a boy, mommy is a girl, nana is a girl, and papa is a boy now right mommy?

I teach some very cute 3 year olds and they always have a lot to say. The other day one of my little girls comes in and starts coloring. Soon she gets very upset and says my crayon is not working, it is broken. I laugh and ask how is the color broken. She says it keep scribbling and want it to color in the lines.

Today at school one of boys looks at me (while we are singing This little light of mine) and asks why would you hide your light and who is this satin guy that is going to blow it out.

Ok I think that is all I have for know. Please feel free to share you cute stories.

Last weekend

Ok last weekend was full of surprises. Sat. was my mom's birthday and my sister and I put our heads together to surprised her with my sister flying in on Friday night. My mom had no clue that my sister was coming and when we walked in with her we all thought she might pee her pants. Then on Sat night my dad and I surprised her with a party. My Aunt Pat took her to the movies and when she came home she had party waiting for her. (thank you to everyone who helped me make this happen) Sun morning we all ate brunch at a local diner and then dad took my sis back to the airport. Mom had a weekend of birthday fun and I hope that she could feel how much we all love and appreciate her everyday. Spring Break starts soon and I can not wait, I have a child in my class that thinks it is ok to spit at me, hit me, and call me names. Today he had to be sent home (for the second time) for his behavior, I just can't imagine a 3 year old with that much anger in him. Well we have to get ready for bed, so good night.

Showing this week in my life....

This week showing in my life is my mom's birthday, a banquet for cub scouts, and whole lot of secrets I will have share after this weekend. My mom's birthday is Sat. and my dad and I have planed a few surprises for her. She is a wonderful person that loves her family so very much so we really wanted to show her how much we love her. I will have to fill everyone in after the weekend (mom does read this and we do not want to ruin any surprises). I also have to figure out how to get the little man to his big baguette this Sat. for cub scouts. This banquet is for the boys to graduate up to the next level of cub scout and to receive any special patches or awards that they have earned so I really want to get the little man to it but the weekend is becoming very busy.

On another note work is going very well and now have a 5 day a week position for the rest of the school year. The hubby is loving school and doing very well. We seem to be making all of our bills some how and are really at peace with our lives for the moment. The princess is completely potty trained and is loving school. The little man is doing very well in school and is wanting to join a football team. Well I think that covers it for now, I hope you all are well and to hear for you all soon.

The cute things kids say

I have been wanting to do a weekly post of cute things my kids and my students say. So I am starting now. Please feel free to leave me cute sayings from your kids too.

This morning my husband made us all muffins for breakfast and the princess comes running up to me and yelling its my birthday, its my birthday daddy made me cupcakes. Poor little thing sang Happy Birthday to herself and everything before we finally got it thru to her that it is not her birthday. I know that I will have several funnies most weeks but with this being the first ( and I can not think of all the ones I had in mind earlier) I will leave you with just one.

Oh how are you liking my new blog look.

My rant for the week

I know that people mean nothing by it when they say "you work at a daycare" but the truth is it bugs the heck out of me. I have the most respect for daycare workers but I am not one of them. I work for a preschool and there is a difference! The kids are at the preschool because the parents are wanting to get a head start on the child's education or for socialization not because the parents work. We have a strict curriculum we are required to teach and we are teachers not just someone who can watch a child. Again I have no problem with daycare or the people that work for them they have a purpose and a lot of them are great. I just want to say that I do not work for a daycare, I work for a preschool. Ok I feel better now. Thank you for letting me get that off of my chest.

Just plugging along

Life is just plugging along right now. I started working 5 days a week this week and thank goodness we had a bad weather day on Wed. my housework needed to be caught up. Hubby has now been in school for a full week and loves it. He still does not have a job but we are making due with little odds and ends jobs. The princess is officially potty trained, she has worn big girl panties to school for 3 days now. (she has had few accidents at home but none at school) The little man is doing so good in school and loves Cub Scouts (that is paid up for the year and the den is so understanding so we can keep that up even with out money). My dad got his cast off this week and had a good dr appointment this week, he will start p.t. next week. Mom is doing as well as can be expected with dad being home 24/7 that is taking some getting use to. Well I think that is all I have for now.

A wonderful week

This week we have been blessed in so many ways. First the hubby and I where able to get the money for the Fire Academy and started class on Thur. He is soooo excited and is really enjoying it. Then yesterday the wonderful women I work with got together and donated a ton of food and toiletries to us so that we did not have to worry about food. When I say a ton I mean really the donations filled the bed of a full sized truck, I had to rearrange my kitchen just to find room for it all. I feel so blessed and loved at this time of struggle. I want to thank all of you who have been praying for us it has been felt. I will keep everyone updated on the job front and every thing else.

Prayers for a little one

I am writing this for a little boy in the princess class that needs our prayers. Nate Oxford is a two year old the just last month (just before the holidays) was diagnosed with a rare and progressive form of cancer. The doctors found tumors on his brain and spine that are progressively growing. They did surgery to remove some of the tumors on the brain but the recovery was hard and chemo did not go well afterwards, they have tried a new mix of chemo this week and seems to be doing better. He is not very responsive and is just not doing well with be prodded and poked at all times (can you imagine at only 2!!). His wonderful parents have set up a set up a web site to keep everyone updated and for prayers- www.prayfornateoxford.com please take a look at his long and painful journey at such a young age and pray for God's healing hands to be on this family.

My husband a fireman?

Well as I wrote before my husband lost his job last month and things are getting very scary around here now. But we really feel that we are being called to change directions so, my hubby has started the registration process to become a fireman and we have (with help) figured out how to pay for the fire academy. The only problem is how to survive between then and now. God has provided us with so much and I know he will keep us feed and sheltered but it is hard to remember that when rent comes due and you do not have the money and do not know when you will. Our church has helped us in the past and the are willing again so hopefully between odd jobs and help from all around us we will make it. The fire academy will only take about 6 weeks and after he should have a guaranteed job with benefits and great hours. Any ways I just need prayers for patients and faith until we are thru this tiring time. Also please pray for my father as he has some medical test to go thru this week, I will explain when we have more info.
